Hi Neighbors,

AB 1269 was amended yesterday, but the essence of this proposed bill is the same. If you are going to mail a letter, please make sure you send it to the GSMOL Legislative Contact at GSMOL, 1700 L Street, Sacramento, CA 95811. Also, get it in the mail ASAP, because the hearing is next Wednesday, April 26. By sending them to the GSMOL address, they will be delivered altogether to the committee.

If you choose to make a phone call, the number for Committee Chair David Chiu is  916-319-2017. When I call I simply identify myself, where I’m from, that I am a manufactured or mobile home owner, and that I am in support of the bill. If my party affiliation is the same as the assembly person, I sometimes let them know. You will be talking to a staffer, and they just record your position. I have never been asked any questions about why I support a bill. You can call multiple committee members if you choose to. The contact information is in the link below.

Hope this helps.

John

The Honorable David S. Chiu

Chair, Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee

1020 N Street, Room 162

Sacramento, CA 95814

Dear Assemblyman Chiu:

I am writing in support of AB 1269, authored by Assemblyman Stone.

AB 1269 will update California’s longstanding Mobilehome Residency Law (MRL) and give mobilehome owners and residents like myself the tools needed to protect our rights.

Violations of the MRL have occurred in our parks. Many of us cannot afford to hire attorneys to protect our rights and AB 1269 offers a common sense approach we can afford.

I hope you will support ALL families (seniors, low-income, disabled, veterans, and English as a second language) living in our parks.

Sincerely,

Name
